COMPOSITION OF MEDICINE CONTAINING BOTULINUS TOXIN FOR CURING ABNORMALLY HYPERSENSITIVE MUSCLE DYSKINESIA AND ITS PREPARATION

PURPOSE: To provide the pharmaceutical composition for treating abnormally hypersensitive muscular movement disorder contg. active butulimum toxin and substantially no inactive toxin. CONSTITUTION: This composition consists essentially of freeze-dried active botulinum toxin type A and contains no sodium chloride and has a <25 wt.% inactive toxin content. A preferred example of the composition is a freeze-dried composition which contains in an ampul sealed under vacuum, 100 U of active botulinum toxin type A or a medically-appropriate number of units and about 0.5% of human serum albumin. The freeze-dried botulinum toxin is obtained by dissolving the botulinum toxin into distilled water or a buffer solution contg. a protein stabilizer and no sodium chloride, receiving the resulting solution into a vessel, freezing the solution at <-70 deg.C in the vessel, drying the solution by freeze-drying and removing water from the solution.
