PURPOSE:To provide an artificial leg capable of ensuring a soft cover concealing the surface of an artificial femoral leg to be from being trapped between the lower end of a femoral region and the upper end of a crus region at the time of bending a knee. CONSTITUTION:An artificial leg has a femoral region 1 and a crus region 2 jointed to each other in such a way as capable of free oscillation, a cylinder 5 laid between the femoral region 1 and the crus region 2, and an external surface concealed with a soft cover 34. In this artificial leg, a knee member 37 is provided, together with a protective member 38 coaxially jointed thereto in such a way as capable of oscillation, and advancing or retreating in an oscillation direction relative thereto. Furthermore, the artificial leg has a resilient member 39 to energize the member 38 in a degenerating direction relative to the knee member 37 and causing the member 38 to oscillate interlocked therewith, an engagement section 40 laid on the member 38, and a restriction body 41 provided at the region 2 for allowing the contact and separation of the section 40, and restricting the oscillation of the member 38 interlocked with the knee member 37 at the preset oscillation angle position against the energizing force of the resilient member 39, via the contact of the section 40 at the time of bending a knee. |
