PURPOSE:To provide a continuous polishing facility for steel band, whereby the surface of a steel band can be polished uniformly so that satisfactory quality about the surface roughness is obtained, by furnishing an idle roll of polishing device with a groove continuing in the axial direction at the peripheral surface. CONSTITUTION:A continuous polishing facility for a steel band H has an endless polish belt 4, which is reciprocated in the swing direction across the running direction centering on one end in the axial direction of an idle roll 2 due to an angular displacement means 5 at an approx. horizontal angular displacement to the upstream and downstream in the running direction of the other end, and using a pressure roll 3 the steel band H running is turned in convex form and pressed to the surface of the polish belt 4 in the direction of approaching so that the surface of the steel band H is contacted. At least one unit of polishing device 10 to polish the steel surface is furnished by spraying a polish oil from a nozzle 6 to the contacting part of the surface of polish belt 4 with the steel surface. The idle roll 2 is provided with a groove continuing in the axial direction at the peripheral surface. |
