PURPOSE:To provide a refining method, which can efficiently denitrogenize without using a large quantity of Ti, in the refining for molten metal by slag- denitrogenizing. CONSTITUTION:The metallic Ti 5 of 0.1-10kg/ton of molten metal together with flux 4 are blown in or blown on the molten metal 2. Ti concn. near the position blown-in or blown-on is extremely higher than the average concn. in the whole molten metal and the nitrogen is efficiently absorbed into the flux 4 as TiN and floated up and separated from the molten metal 2 as slag component.
