<p>PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recorder which can record a black border by a simple and low costed structure. CONSTITUTION:A acousto-optical modulator 26 modulates the output of a laser generator 24 according to the scanning time of the surface of a thermalrecording material, and outputs specific thermal energy under coloring thermal energy to an image part of a thermal recording material S, and a laser beam giving the coloring thermal energy to a part other than the image part. A semiconductor laser 12 outputs a laser beam modulated with a signal of gradation image to be recorded on the image part of the thermal recording material S according to the scanning time of the thermal recording material surface, and an unmodulated laser beam of specific thermal energy to the part other than the image part of the thermal recording material S. Then, one laser beam L is produced by combining respective output beams of the semiconductor laser 12 and the acousto-optical modulate 26, and the thermal recording surface is irradiated therewith. Therefore, a black border is formed around the image in addition to the desired image on the thermal recording material surface.</p> |
