METHOD FOR MOLDING WEATHERSTRIP FOR AUTOMOBILE

PURPOSE:To mold integrally a thin coat having good abrasion and chemical resistance in a process in which a weatherstrip for automobiles is molded in the longitudinal direction, and a synthetic resin has compatibility with the surface of an external part which is exposed when the weatherstrip is used. CONSTITUTION:A weatherstrip mainbody 1 is molded from a polyolefine type thermoplastic elastomer of or its foamed product. A thin coat 5 with thickness of 0.05mm or less which is made of a polyolefine type resin having excellent abrasion and chemical resistance is extruded respectively with two extruders on the surface of the weatherstrip which is externally exposed when it is attached to a car body panel and a door panel. Concurrently, material in one mold die is extruded to fuse both together.
