PURPOSE:To provide a fuel injection device to complete the opening operation of a solenoid valve, which is operated to release a pressurized fuel, rapidly in a short time. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid valve 51 to set free a pressurized fuel is provided with a valve stem 520 having a valve head 523 coupled to an armature 530 and tapered such that its size is increased with the increase of a distance separate from the armature. The maximum diameter part of the valve head is caused to seat a tapered valve seat part 517a formed on the inner peripheral wall part of a fuel reservoir chamber 517, communicated with a fuel pressurizing chamber formed in a manner to be communicated with an armature chamber 513, such that the size is reduced toward the armature. The valve head is designed such that it is pressed in an opening direction by means of pressure fuel during release of pressure fuel. Further, a pressure chamber opened to the lower end face of the valve stem is provided to suppress the occurrence of secondary injection. |
