PURPOSE:To obtain the subject culture medium capable of surely performing the test of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus at a low cost in a short time by using a specific agar culture medium, stamping the culture medium on a site to be tested, then covering the site with a lid and carrying out the culturing. CONSTITUTION:A body 2 of a Petri dish is initially filled with an agar culture medium (MTB culture medium) 3 composed of Beard Parker culture medium containing methicillin and a neutralizing agent for a disinfectant and the body 2 is then detachably covered with a lid unit 4. The culture medium 3 and the interior covered with the lid unit 4 are subsequently sterilized to constitute the objective culture medium 1. The culture medium surface of the stamping culture medium 1 removed from the lid unit 4 is then stamped on a site 6 to be tested and then covered with the lid unit 4 to perform culturing. The presence of methicillin-resistance Staphylococcus aureus is finally judged by the presence of a colony formed on the agar culture medium 3. Furthermore, e.g. a potassium tellurite solution is used as the neutralizing agent for the disinfectant.
