PURPOSE:To obtain a medicine having antiinflammatory, antiallergic and inhibitory actions on decomposition of hyaluronic acid, and a food and a cosmetic comprising the medicine. CONSTITUTION:The medicine, food and cosmetic comprise an extract of Hydrangeae Dulcis Folium as an active ingredient. The inflammation or swelling of the throat caused by a cold, pollenosis, cough, etc., can be prevented and improved by daily ingestion of this food. The pruritus of the skin, etc., can similarly be improved by using this cosmetic. The extract of the Hydrangeae Dulcis Folium as a strong inhibitor of decomposition of the hyaluronic acid is capable of suppressing the reduction in content of the hyaluronic acid contained in the skin, arterial wall, articular cavity, etc., thereby enhancing the humectant properties and softness of the skin in spite of its indirect action, preventing arteriosclerosis due to aging and contributing to an improvement, etc., in arthritis. |
