PURPOSE:To provide a digital VTR which can record and reproduce the video signals of two channels singly at a time. CONSTITUTION:Two encoder circuits 14, 14 to execute encoding processing for error correction and two modulation circuits 15, 15 to execute respectively modulation processing for recording are provided. Two demodulation circuits 53, 53, two decoder circuits 55, 55, and two heads 1A, 2A and 1B, 2B are provided. At the time of the recording, a first and a second digital video signals S15, S15 recording-processed by the encoder circuits 14, 14 and the modulation circuits 15, 15 are supplied to the heads 1A, 2A and 1B, 2B respectively, and are recorded in a common recording medium as a first and a second tracks independent of each other. At the time of reproduction, the digital video signals S15, S15 are reproduced from the recording medium respectively by the heads 1A, 2A and 1B, 2B, and henceforth, signal processing contrary to the time of the recording is executed, and the original first and the original second digital video signals S13, S13 are obtained. |
