PURPOSE:To eliminate a thermal influence due to the thermal fusion of an electric double layer capacitor in its assembly and to enhance the yield by a method wherein, after the fundamental structure of the electric double layer capacitor has been assembled, an electrolytic solution is injected into its inside. CONSTITUTION:An active-carbon electrode 12 is arranged together with a separator 14 at the inside of a gasket 10 in which small through holes have been made, and current collectors 20 are bonded to the surface and the rear surface of the gasket 10 by using a hot melt adhesive. Thereby, a fundamental structure is assembled. After that, an electrolytic solution is injected from one small through hole, the small through hole is then corked hermetically, and the inside is sealed. Two small through holes are made in the gasket 10, one is used as a solution injection hole 22a, the other is used as an air evacuation hole, and the air at the inside is discharged from the side of the air evacuation hole when the solution is injected. The holes are formed to be taper-shaped and they are hermetically corked completely after the solution has been injected. The electrolytic solution is injected in a decreased-pressure atmosphere, air bubbles in the active-carbon electrode 12 are removed and replaced by the electrolytic solution, and it is promoted that the electrode is impregnated with the solution. |
