<p>PURPOSE:To provide a handwritten character recognizer which can recognize all handwritten characters regardless of their written positions on an input device like a tablet, etc., and without limiting the input enable areas for users. CONSTITUTION:A handwritten character recognizer consists of a tablet 11 which detects the writing information on input characters, a stroke detecting part 12 which detects the strokes based on the writing information, a writing information storage part 17 which recognizes the writing information necessary for recognition and display of characters, a feature extracting part 13 which detects the information necessary for recognition out of those detected strokes, a feature storage part 14 which stores the extracted features, a character recognizing part 15 which recognizes the characters from the extracted features, and a display part 16 which shows the input characters and the results of recognized characters. Thus the input characters are recognized based on the writing information stored in the part 17 or the processing result of the writing information.</p> |
