<p>PURPOSE: To provide a video cassette recorder or a camcorder equipped with a video index function for finding out a picture desirable for a user even without using VISS or VASS by recording or reproducing the index code of information concerning a tape during the vertical flyback period of video signal. CONSTITUTION: In case of recording, a microcomputer 90 reads the index code out of a memory 50, increases the read index code just for '1' and outputs it to an adder 80. The index code synthesized with a video signal by the adder 80 is recorded during the vertical flyback signal period. In case of reproducing, the microcomputer 90 reads a library corresponding to the index code recorded during the vertical flyback period of video signal out of the memory 50 and performs on-screen display.</p> |
