<p>PURPOSE:To provide the method for detecting motion vector which can more accurately detect the motion vector of a color difference signal and requires smaller hardware scale as compared with the case when the motion vector is detected with the use of the method similar to a luminance signal. CONSTITUTION:In obtaing the motion vector of color difference signals C1 and C2, the position of the motion vector obtained by a luminance signal Y is corrected for the color difference signal, and taking it as a reference motion vector 1 for color difference signals C1 and C2. In this case, plural candidate motion vectors are set around the vector 1, and the correlation among adjacent frames is obtained for each motion vector. As the result, the motion vector having the maximum correlation is takes as the motion vector for color difference signal.</p> |
