PURPOSE:To prevent bubble from being generated on the joint faces of stuck originals by turning on a light source after the original is installed, continuously or stepwise increasing the quantity of light and starting reading after the quantity of light for reading is reached. CONSTITUTION:The original is installed on contact glass. Next, a halogen lamp 6 is turned on by a turning-on device 25. At such a time, a control voltage generator 26 continuously increases a control voltage for controlling the light quantity of the halogen lamp. When the quantity of light is continuously increased and reaches the control voltage corresponding to the quantity of light for reading, the control voltage is fixed to the value. In such a state, a sub scanning running system 19 is normally started, and the reading of the original images is started. When the reading is finished, the halogen lamp 6 is turned off, and the sub scanning running system 19 is returned to the home position. |
