PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy for estimating the residual quantity of battery by storing the corrected values based on the usage records of respective batteries for every individual identification and correcting the errors on the basis of individual difference and aging of the battery. CONSTITUTION:A judging means 3 judges an ID 2 showing the individual identification of a battery 1 and a residual quantity estimation calculation means 5 judges whether or not the ID 2 is stored in a corrected-value storing means 8. When the ID 2 is not stored there, the initial values of alpha, beta and T are used and when it is stored there, the corrected values of alpha, beta and T are used, respectively. The means 5 fetches a temperature T from a temperature detecting means 6 and substitutes it in a function alpha(T) read out from the means 8 in order to obtain a temperature dependence coefficient beta at that time, while the means 5 fetches a current value i from a current detecting means 4 and substitutes it in a function beta (i) in order to obtain a current dependence coefficient beta. Further the means 5 fetches an elapsed time tau from a timer 7, calculates the formula (Estimated value)=P-f<tau>oi.alpha(T).beta(i)dt, where P is total power value during full charging, stores it in a residual quantity storing means 9, and displays it on a display means. |
