The fibre optic receiver (6b) is made up of bundles of optical fibres (2a) opening onto a flat front surface (4). The bundles are partitioned into eight segments angularly, with a central spoke (7) to the partition.A light source is centred at the focus of an elliptical reflector radiating energy to the fibre optic receiver, which is at a second focus point. A coated glass window reflects infrared energy. Thus the fibres collect incoming illumination uniformly and efficiently.
