<p>PURPOSE:To provide the base for photographic paper which is not only improved in the printability of a back coat layer formed on the rear surface of the water resistant base but also is improved in joining property utilizing thermal fusion by ultrasonic waves, etc. CONSTITUTION:This base for photographic paper is constituted by having the back coat layer formed by applying a coating liquid contg. at least (a) colloidal silica, (b) an aq. dispersion of a styrene-acrylate copolymer polymerized in the presence of a water-soluble high polymer, (c) at least one kind selected from a water-soluble high-polymer compd. having a carboxyl group or sulfone group and/or its metal salt and its hydrophilic org. high-polymer colloidal material and/or its salt and (d) an aq. dispersion of a polyolefin resin having <=100 deg.C m.p. on the rear surface of the water resistant base formed by coating both surfaces of raw paper with a polyolefin resin, the drying the coating.</p> |
