PURPOSE:To evaluate the certainty of the recognized result with stability and high accuracy without requiring any special adjustment even when a character recognizing system, original image quality or front, etc., are different. CONSTITUTION:A certainty decision part 116 lets a previously decided fixed value be a certainty value while referring to the recognized result inside a recognized result memory 112 when the number of candidates is 1. When there are plural candidates, a number of picture information memory 114 is referred to by respective character codes, and the number of pictures is acquired. Then, the value of difference between the maximum and minimum number of picture is calculated and by means of certainty = 100-(number of picture difference value X fixed value), the certainty value of the recognized result is calculated. |
