PURPOSE:To simplify a screen to enhance visibility and enhance safety as a result by eliminating information unnecessary to travel during travel. CONSTITUTION:During travel, a road (f) where passage is prohibited by restriction of traffic or the like and congested roads (c), (d), (e), i.e., the roads that a driver regards as being out of future route settings are automatically eliminated from a display screen, enabling simplification of the contents displayed on the display screen. The next route can be selected from roads to be set as routes, displayed on the simplified display screen (shown in Figure 6(A)), so that the time required for obtaining final necessary information from the display screen can be reduced. Therefore, the driver deals with the information quickly enough to reduce the possibility of causing accidents because of not paying attention to the forward view, thus enhancing safety. |
