The invention concerns a shredder especially for dough, comprising a processing table 1 with frame, and two movable processing members 3 which bear against the top surface of the table, lie parallel in the longitudinal direction of the processing table 1 and execute the shredding function. Each processing member 3 is connected via two crossbars 4 to its eccentric pair 7; 8 rotating about vertical axes 5; 6, of which one eccentric pair 7 is greater than the other eccentric pair 8, and which eccentric pairs 7, 8 are arranged to rotate with equal speeds and in identical directions, giving both the processing members 3 a drive movement which follows a circular path which preserves the position of the processing members 3 in the longitudinal direction. A characteristic feature of the shredder is that it has an endless conveyor belt 2 which runs in the longitudinal direction of the processing table and on top of which the processing members 3 are arranged in the form of open grooves, the eccentric pairs 7, 8 being arranged to rotate in the direction, in that the processing groove 3 driven by the greater eccentric pair 7 moves counter to the direction of the conveyor belt 2 when it is near the centre line of the conveyor belt 2, and in that the movements of the processing grooves 3 are synchronized with each other so that both the processing grooves 3 together move, at least for an instant, towards and away from each other. <IMAGE>
