PURPOSE:To supply sufficient amount of toner and to obtain a sharp image free from surface staining and grain-like staining by providing a foreign substances removal means in a second toner tank for storing recovered toner. CONSTITUTION:A developing device 3 is provided with a first toner tank 7 from which fresh toner is supplied, and the second toner tank 10 in which toner recovered by a cleaner 5 is stored. The second toner tank 10 is provided with mesh 11 used for the removal of foreign substances, such as paper powder, contained in the recovered toner. An agitator 26 which slides on the mesh 11 and stires the recovered toner in the tank 10 is rotatably provided. A molt plane 22 for scraping recovered toner sticking to the surface of a toner supply roller 221 and for supplying it to the agitator roller 16 is provided on one side of the toner outlet of the tank 10. Also, on the other side of the outlet, a slitter 23 for obtaining a stable amount of recovered toner with poor fluidity to be supplied is obtained. |
