PURPOSE:To obtain a high density magnetic recording medium by forming a layer contg. at least one of org. fluorine compds. each having a prescribed compsn. and phosphoric ester on the surface of a ferromagnetic metallic thin film. CONSTITUTION:A layer contg. at least one of org. fluorine compds. represented by formulae I-V and at least one among phosphoric ester, phosphorous ester, thiophosphoric ester and salts of these esters is formed on the surface of a ferromagnetic metallic thin film. In the formulae, Rf is CF3CF2(CF2)n(CH2)m or (CF3)2CF(CF2)n(CH2)m, 2<=n<=10, 1<=m<=18, 6<=n+m<=26, Y is a divalent residual group, X is -OH, -COOM, -SO3M, -O(CH2)SO3M or -O(CM2)1SO3M, M is H, Na, K or ammonium, 0<=l<=4, R<1> is HCidentical, etc., R<2> is -CH2-, etc., R<3> is >C<, A-CH2Cidentical, etc., and 0<=k<=2. |
