PURPOSE:To use voice to announce the approach of a car to a crossing to turn on a guide course, to display information including the detailed map, etc., of the crossing to turn, and to perform control such that when guide course information including that of the crossing is displayed on the display screen it is not displayed on the portion of the display screen in front of the forward direction of the car. CONSTITUTION:An information processor 8 is provided with a GPS receiver 2 for detecting the position of a car, a CD-ROM driver 4 for reading map information from a CD-ROM 3 in which the map information and the like are stored, an input device 5, a display device 6 having a display screen 6a, and a speaker 7. The information processor 8 is also provided with a guide course information display means which, when the car approaches a crossing to turn, displays information including the detailed map, etc., of the crossing to turn on a display screen 6a, a voice output means for outputting voice from the speaker 7 to announce the approach, and a display control means for displaying information about the guide course on a portion of the display screen 6a other than in front of the forward direction of the car. |
