The color compensating circuit for a video signal comprises a sample-hold circuit for sampling and holding an input video signal, an analog-to-digital (A/D) converter for converting the output signal of the sample-hold circuit to a digital signal, first to third 1-horizontal period memories for storing the output signal of the A/D converter every 1-horizontal period, a first digital-to-analog (D/A) converter for selectively converting the output signals of the first and second 1-horizontal period memories to an analog signal, a second D/A converter for converting the output signal of the third 1-horizontal period memory to a digital signal, an analog switch for selectively generating the output signals of the first and second D/A converters, a low-pass filter for low-pass filtering the output signal of the analog switch, and a controller for controlling the output signals of the analog switch and the first to third 1-horizontal period memories, thereby reproducing a clear and distinct screen.
