PURPOSE:To optionally select font data on respective character kinds in a document which is electronically prepared by providing a control means which performs selection control over the font data in the document being edited according to the contents of a virtual font family table. CONSTITUTION:A document editing device which handles plural kind of fonts is equipped with a storage means 15 which stores the font data corresponding to character codes of plural character kinds as a font family as the font managing system which manages plural kind of font data corresponding to character codes. This system is equipped with the virtual font family table 17 wherein character kinds in the document being edited are made to correspond to the font family of the font data according to user's specification and the control means 13 which performs the selection control over the font data in the document being edited according to the contents of the virtual font family table. Consequently, font data 14 can optionally be selected corresponding to character kinds by using the virtual font family table 17. |
