PURPOSE:To provide a drive controller for a stepping motor in which a phase difference is generated between an exciting position and a rotor position due to loss such as a friction of the rotor and a hysteresis of a slight deviation of a stopping position is alleviated in the controller for the motor in which a basic stepping angle of the motor is divided into n pieces to be microstepwisely driven. CONSTITUTION:The drive controller for a stepping motor comprises an up/down counter 1 for counting 1 clock pulses, a selector 6 for switching correction data according to a counting direction signal (UP/DOWN) of the counter, an adder 5 for adding the counted output of the counter and the output data of the selector, ROMs 2a, 2b for reading the output data of the adder as address data and storing amplitude data of a sine wave and a cosine wave in memory addresses, and exciting current control units 3a, 3b for converting the amplitude data of the sine and cosine waves to be read from the ROMs to exciting currents of the motor. |
