The stopper consists of a rubber sphere (7) with a metal core, or a disc, which is pressed in place against the open end of the mould outlet by a lever. The lever is retained by a catch (10) until released by a peg (11) on a timer and a spring.The stopper is mounted on a plate (4) which is attached to the surface of the mould and recovered when the mould has ended its useful life so that it can be fitted to a new mould. The stopper closes the outlet while the mould is being filled, opening after a set time to release the surplus liquid.
