PURPOSE: To provide a locking member and a locking clip so as to surely prevent axial movement of a knob cover cooperating with a scale device or the like and non-rotatably held against an adjusting nut threaded on a securing head. CONSTITUTION: This target value adjusting device fixed in the casing 1 of a hot and cold water mixing valve has an adjusting nut 3 threaded on the projecting part of a head 2 threaded into the casing 1, and a pressure pin 32 provided on the adjusting nut 3 drives a valve stem 25 via an overload protection member 23 placed in a hole 24. A knob cover 8 having an outer jacket is non-rotatably and axially movably coupled to the adjusting nut 3, is axially secured by a plurality of locking members 6 and is freely rotationally connected to an abutment ring 4. Axial movement of the abutment ring 4 is prevented by insertion of a U-shaped locking clip 7 into a ring groove 22 in the head 2.
