<p>This invention relates to the use of low dose levels of alpha interferon in asymptomatic HIV-positive patients to restore immune function that is independent of CD4+ T cell loss. Because prior use of alpha interferon as an antiviral agent dictated maximum tolerated dosages, the discovery of this restorative property at low dose levels provides significant benefit to a patient population which would not otherwise have used this drug.</p> |
