Mounting rail for cable installation in buildings

A rail (1) to hold cables (9) or pipes in domestic installations is made from a galvanised steel C-section, the opposite legs (5, 6) being bent over to give ledges of unequal width, with a further bend inwards towards the base of the C. The wider ledge has a series of comb-like slots (7). The narrower ledge has a series of openings (10). The base of the C has slots (17) for mounting bolts (18). Inside the C is a plate, spring-loaded against the base, with two longitudinal grooves into which the ends of the ledges press. A bolt screws into this plate to subdivide the conductors strapped to the ledges.
