The equipment which is hand guided along the flange (3) has two motor driven strip pressure rolls (4,5) which have a tread profile chosen to suit the section of the adhesive strip (2) being laid. The rotational axes of the pressure rolls lie in a plane parallel to that of the flange.Just in front of the pressure rolls (4,5) is a driven roller (6) where the protective liner (9) of the adhesive strip is peeled off and passes between take-off guide rollers (7,8).
