An electrical drive has already been proposed in which an accumulator consisting of inductors supplies the motor of the electrical drive, after it has been disconnected from the electrical mains power supply after being brought into use. In this case, the accumulator consists of a helical conductor (which consists of one turn having a large external diameter) a winding which is connected in series with this conductor and two asynchronous motors whose power and rotation speed differ. Since these asynchronous motors are subject to particularly stringent requirements, these requirements lead to disproportionately high costs which limit the use of the electrical drive. In order to reduce the structural cost, both the helical conductor (9) (which consists of one turn) and the winding (10) connected in series with it are arranged in a housing (25) which is provided, mounted such that it can rotate, in a fixedly arranged frame (28) and is connected to the shaft (31) of a high-speed infinitely variably controllable electric motor (32). The drive is suitable, for example, for electric cars and electric locomotives. <IMAGE>
