In order to minimise the lengthening of a vehicle transmission due to the cantilevered mounting of an electrical retarder (2, 3) with two rotor discs (9) onto the body of the box (1) of this transmission, the rotor of this retarder is supported by the periphery of the box clip (14) by way of a tubular insert (23) offering at one of its end an inner collar (24) brought down onto the periphery of the clip and, at its other end, an outer collar (13) enclosed by the rotor rings (10). ……
