The workpiece (5) is flanged to an excess pressure device (15). The internal workpiece space (12) is charged with excess pressure during immersion coating. The hollow space is connected via an adaptor (8) with passage bore (13) to an excess pressure unit on the workpiece carrier (4).The workpiece is flanged to the underside (7) of a flat carrier via the adaptor with connection flange (9). An excess pressure bell is located on the upper surface of the workpiece carrier to pressure-charge the hollow workpiece interior. Pressure and/or volume of the paint flow (20) are controlled, so that the paint surface (25) forms corrugations (26).
