<p>The present invention provides a method of treating a female in need of hormone replacement therapy comprising transdermally administering to said female a series of alternating phases of from about one to about four days of estrogen dominant activity and phases of from about one to about four days of progestin dominant activity, with the estrogen dominant activity phase consisting of administering a transdermal estrogen substance alone or administering a transdermal estrogen substance and a transdermal progestin substance and the progestin dominant activity phase consisting of administering a transdermal progestin substance and a transdermal estrogen substance, the amount of progesting substance being alternately increased in the progesting dominant activity phase and decreased in the estrogen dominant activity phase to provide the required dominant activity.</p> |
