A fixing socket 1 is embedded in resin grout 11 in a hole 10 in a motorway substrate 9 (or a building), and has an internally threaded hole (not shown) engaged by a bolt to secure fence posts, or crash barriers, or lighting posts. The outside of the socket 1 is formed with indentations in the form of circumferential grooves or a screwthread to improve the grip of the resin grout. The socket 1 comprises a hollow shaft into which a solid smaller diameter threaded stud is screwed and locked. The shaft and the stud may be of the same or different materials. <IMAGE> |
