PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a bright printed product at a high density without bleeding by preapplying urea, a water-soluble metallic salt or a water-soluble polymer to a polyester fabric and then applying a printing ink to the resultant polyester fabric according to an ink jet method. CONSTITUTION:A woven fabric woven from polyester filament yarn having 1-10 de average single filament size and 20-100 de average total size is immersed in an aqueous solution of urea, a water-soluble metallic salt such as common salt, Glauber's salt or calcium chloride, a water-soluble natural polymer such as starch, a cellulosic substance or sodium alginate or a water-soluble synthetic polymer such as polyvinyl alcohol or polyethylene oxide and the resultant fabric is then dehydrated and dried. Thereby, the moisture content is regulated to 1-101% and the pickup of the substance is regulated to 0.01-20wt.%. A printing ink containing prescribed amounts of a disperse dye, an organic solvent and water is subsequently applied to the woven fabric according to an ink jet method to form a printed image, which is then fixed by steaming treatment and further subjected to washing treatment. |
