The invention relates to a process for preparing magnetic ferrites of the M-type in the form of hexagonal particles having the general formula MeFe12-2xR<II>xR<IV>xO19, in which Me is at least one metal atom selected from the group consisting of Ba, Sr, Pb and Ca, R<II> is at least one divalent metal ion selected from the group comprising Co, Ni and Zn, R<IV> is at least one tetravalent metal ion selected from the group comprising Ti, Sn, Ge and Zr and x is a number between greater than 0.60 and 0.95, a heating rate of less than or equal to 1 K/s being maintained during the heating-up period of the heat treatment. |
