PRODUCTION OF STRIPELIKE THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COATED STEEL PANEL FOR WELDED CAN

PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic resin coated steel panel adapted to a food can field and excellent in weldability and corrosion resistance by providing slits to a thermoplastic resin film just before a laminating roll in the rolling direction of a steel panel to preheat the film to specific temp. and laminating the slit film to the steel panel in a stripe state so as to have a plurality of film uncovered parts each having specific width at an equal interval. CONSTITUTION:In laminating a thermoplastic resin film 2 to a steel panel 1 in a stripe state so as to regularly have film uncovered parts 8 each having a width of 2-10mm, the heat shrinkability of the resin film 2 is used and slits are parallelly provided to the wide film just before a laminating roll 4 in the rolling direction of the steel panel and the film is shrunk by preheating by a heater roll 3 to be laminated to the steel panel. For example, a polyester film whose heat shrinkage factor in the lateral direction of the film at 140-150 deg.C is 1-6% is used and laminated to the steel panel in a stripe state so as to have an uncovered part with a width of 2-10mm.
