PURPOSE:To simply, accurately and rapidly measure the decomposing capacity of a microorganism for treating waste water to a specific org. pollutant. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism to be examined or a microorganism group to be examined and a specific org. matter are brought to a contact state within a aqueous medium in a hermetically closed container in the presence of a respiration inhibitor and the reduction of oxygen in the hermetically closed container is measured by an oxygen electrode to measure the org. matter decomposing capacity of microorganism for treating waste water. By this method, the decomposing capacity of the microorganism for treating waste water to a specific org. matter can be measured within about 30min. |
