PURPOSE: To produce a composition for preparing an emulsion and a multi-phase emulsion, and more concretely, to provide a solid matter being a self-emulsifiable glass capable of forming the stable emulsion or the multi-phase emulsion without agitating for emulsification by bringing it into contact with a sufficient amount of water phase. CONSTITUTION: This self-emulsifiable glass is prepared from a certain kind of a matrix compound and an oily material by means of a solvent method. The glass is prepared by combining the matrix compound, the oily material and a solvent which substantially dissolves all matrix compounds and removing the solvent. The multi-phase emulsion is formed from a water in oil type emulsion glass whose oil phase is the first layer. The glass and the emulsion produced by this method are especially useful in pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic fields. |
