PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound derived from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, a specific dihydroxy compound and an aliphatic glycol, having excellent transparency, heatresistance, moldability, etc., and useful for fiber, film, molding material, etc. CONSTITUTION:This polyester polymer is composed of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid (diester derivative) (preferably terephthalic acid), a dihydroxy compound of the formula (R1 is 2-4C alkyl; R2, R3, R4 and R5 are H or 1-4C alkyl) (preferably 10-95mol% based on total glycol) and a 2-4C aliphatic glycol (preferably ethylene glycol) and has an intrinsic viscosity of >=0.3 (measured at 20 deg.C in a mixture of 60wt.% of phenol and 40wt.% of 1,l,2,2-tetrachloroethane). |
