PURPOSE:To obtain an apparatus for producing active carbon fiber capable of continuously carrying out the activation treatment of carbon fiber with high productivity and stably producing the active carbon fiber of uniform quality and a method for producing the active carbon fiber using the apparatus for production. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus for producing active carbon fiber is equipped with a paddle screw type stirring and transferring means 3 having plural independent blades on a shaft in a reactional tube of the apparatus capable of countercurrently flowing an activating gas, passing through the interior of the shaft and blowing off from the tip of the shaft and raw material carbon fiber, carrying out activating reaction and thereby stably and continuously producing homogeneous active carbon fiber at a high speed. |
