There is provided a gain control circuit which comprises a circuit unit composed of a transistor Q11, a first gain control unit 12 including transistors Q12 and Q13 having emitters connected to each other and a choke coil L1 having an end connected to the collector of the transistor Q12 and the other end connected to the collector of the transistor Q13 for checking a high frequency signal current, and a second gain control unit 15 including transistors Q14 and Q15 having emitters connected to each other. Then, the transistor Q11 of the circuit unit is connected to the node where the emitters of the first gain control unit 12 are connected to each other and the node where the transistor Q13 of the first gain control unit 12 is connected to the choke coil L1 is connected to the node where the emitters of the second gain control unit 15 are connected to each other, and a high frequency is input to the base of the transistor Q11 of the circuit unit. With this arrangement, a power consumption is reduced and the distortion of an output signal is improved.
