Explosive in emulsion of the water-in-oil type, which comprises a discontinuous aqueous oxidizing phase, a continuous organic phase and an emulsifying agent. The organic phase contains, at least, a block copolymer which has at least one block that is soluble and at least one other block that is insoluble in said organic phase. The presence of said block copolymer improves the stability and cohesion of the emulsion, allowing the explosive compositions to which it gives rise to be used both in bulk and rolled or packaged. These explosives can be used in the manufacture of explosive compositions for civilian use.
