Occlusive balloon of variable geometry for the temporary or permanent closing of septal defects and other applications with a variable geometry, to be mounted on two concentric catheters: the distal end of the balloon on the internal catheter and the proximal on the external, in such a way that the initial shape of the balloon, depending on the orifice or passage which it is desired to occlude, is a symmetrical or dissymmetrical camel "hump"; with a long or short, wide or narrow neck; cylindrical, ovoid or semilunar shape and between the two concentric catheters, sliding one over the other, an enclosed cavity is left by the terminal piece which allows injection of the fluid to fill the balloon. There is also a distal terminal piece made up of a closure system with a toric joint and a fluid injection system, made up of the lateral arm of the terminal piece, having a three-way key, also having a braking system which acts on the "trocar-mando" of the internal catheter and in the case of use as a permanent closure it has a "thermoretractile" cutting system consisting of a thermal element (electrical resistance or radiofrequency loop) and a retractile sleeve. <IMAGE>
