PURPOSE:To increase the safety travelling range in the continuous running after puncture by specifying the value TW/BW of the maximum width of tire at a state of satisfying a specified tire inner pressure with respect to the rim RW of the wheel rim. CONSTITUTION:This air-filled safety tire is provided with a horizontal pair of bead sections BE, a pair of side walls SW following each bead section, and a tread section TR across both the side walls. It is so arranged that the thickness of the bead section maintains its largest equivalent to 4-9% of the maximum tire width all over the bent area covering from the position at which it becomes thinner toward the side wall section to the hump 3, the position the largest in thickness of the shoulder on the tread section. In a safety tire of such a type, the maximum tire width TW/ RW is set within the range of 1.0<=TW/RW<=1.3. |
