The holder consists of a series of horizontal parallel bars (2) which are spaced at appropriate intervals for the shaped dough portions to fit between them.The bars are welded to a horizontal panel (3) at right angles to their ends, making a rack which can be fitted over a table top and joined, e.g. by projections (4) at the ends of the panel (3), to the upper ends of the table legs. Once in place, the bars (2) can be covered by a sheet of material which sags between the bars to make troughs to hold the dough portions, and which can be lifted off when ready for the next operation.
