The valve consists of a hemispherical body (1), inside which is located a freely-mobile polypropylene ball (3). The ball moves under the passage of air within the body to block an opening (4) at one end of the body. A rib (6) at the lower part of the body cooperates with a groove (12) of a tracheal tube.The tracheal tube includes a intra-tracheal collar (9) and an external collar (10), the latter pierced by a pair of diametrically-opposite holes (11). A bar (5) formed within the hemispherical body limits the movement of the ball in an inward direction, under the action of an intake of breath.
